I don't know if the feature isn't working or my brain isn't working but I haven't found success filtering movies.

I can call up the feature, choose categories.... but then what? Hitting back seems to cancel, hitting the Menu button results in a black screen.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks in advance...

Press Filter Button from the home screen:

    Default view shows ALL

    Choose filter(s)

    Press <Return>

Pressing <Return> again gets you back to the home screen.

About sorting: how can I sort and display only French films from my collection?

You'll have to create a custom widget on the home screen of HT and add them to that manually.

    Hey Mark, thanks for helping.

I played around with this last night and discovered the reason I was confused is that if I select any Genre (other than ALL) I get no results. It doesn't matter which genre I choose.

Interestingly enough, if I choose genres from the home screen of HT that works correctly.

I do see in your screenshots that you are able to choose a genre and still have the filter work properly so I'm baffled.

    Thanks again.

Yeah - I can select any genre just on its own as well and that filters fine.

What happens if you choose a genre from the home screen:

From the home screen it works fine.

That's odd. It's the same mechanism in the filters screen so should work there too... I can only think it's a corrupt database, but that's very unusual and I can't think how the database would affect the filters view and not the the genres in the home screen...

Yes it is odd, I wonder if anyone else experiences this. If it's just me then it does seem to suggest some sort of database corruption. I'd hate to start over since I have almost 4k titles and the amount of work involved to re-match the percentage of titles it misses is a fair bit of work.
