Hi, first post in here so don’t know if this is the correct placement or if it has already been discussed, I apologise if so. I have a Zidoo Z9 XPro and was prompted for update V1.0.95, the first one I have had since bought it. I have a 8TB SATA 3.5 perfectly working and following the update it just stopped detecting it. I have disconnected, factory reset zidoo etc and nothing. I connected the SATA to my Pc and it detects it, but asks to format before use. I would prefer not to if not 100% necessary as I will lose all content. I have just purchased a SATA to USB connector to see if it is maybe a connection issue, as it does correctly detect my USB pens, and as a last resort I will reformat the SATA and see it that resets it. Has anyone else had any issues? Has something to do with the update, as it was perfect before it. Any ideas? I have also tried to obtain a previous firmware but not much official support out there and the one from zidoo website doesn’t work. Gives me an error. Factory reset also doesn’t reset it back to original firm aware, just deletes everything but comes back on with new firmware. Thanks in advance.
Moved to correct forum Can't help regarding the hard disc as I use network storage, but as far as firmware rollback is concerned, this has been disabled because of hardware differences in different batches which could cause the device to brick. The only way to revert is to to perform an emergency flash and then restore to the firmware version you want to land on. This is not without risk to the box, so only recommended if you know what you're doing and then you have to follow the instructions to the letter. https://www.zidoo.tv/Support/suppor...Leq7k9e[ld]3ulg==/guide_faq/raXr0bxKWKM=.html
Before I update I always take out my 16TB HDD. Just use a USB on the back on the player to update. After install update unplug for player for 10 mins. Then put the HDD back in, then turn on. Simples
Thanks Simon, the annoying thing is that it is the first update ive had since buying it, and part of me thought of not updating as it was working perfectly and all nicely set up, but I thought itll be fine... Not the case. I will disconnect everything next time. Managed to get it all working again yesterday, but had to reformat disk and lost everything...
