Hi. As always, I am too tempted not to jump back in. After the disappointment of the Z9X Pro I was about to give up...but the native plex integration has me intrigued! Now onto the decision....Z9X 8K vs Z3000 Pro I don't use an Amp etc so I don't need the 2nd HDMI output, but the Z3000 Pro seems to have 8GB of RAM compared to the 6GB in the Z9X Pro. How much of a difference will this make? Is there any other benefit to the Z3000 Pro? The HDD integration is handy I guess. For me, is the usability noticeably better with the Z3000 Pro, is the decision I nee help with?
There is also the Z30 if you need a drive bay. OK it also has 6GB and not 8GB RAM. I have the Z9X 8K as all my media is store on a NAS. I find it more than fast enough.
don’t need a bay tbh, was more leaning towards the higher end for more RAM. But if there isn’t much difference between the 6 and the 8, may as well stay with cheaper ones as I think they’re the same otherwise?
The music DAC is different in these two players. The Z3000 Pro has the Eversolo DAC which is excellent. I don't think the Z9X 8k has that same DAC.
The Z3000 Pro has no DAC at all! Only the UHD8000 has it. It just has a nicer chassis, internal antennas, better remote, internal PSU and an internal HDD bay next to those mentioned 8Gbyte RAM and dual HDMI.
Which EverSolo? The A6 has two ESS Sabre’s ES9038Q2M while the A8 has AKM’s AK4191EQ+AK4499EX. The UHD8000 has ESS’s new ESS9069Q DAC. But for the Z3000 Pro I couldn’t find any details about it’s DAC, not even mentioned in the manual. It only has single-ended analogue out, I’m not sure if it’s a high end DAC.
So has Z9X 8K. You confuse the RCA audio outputs with having an extra DAC. All Zidoo models of the last 4 generations feature a SOC integrated DAC. Older models had Composite Video plus LC+RC Audio outputs. The base models via a single miniplug and more expensive models via dedicated RCA plugs. The same with Dune. Only my Egreat A11 featured a fairly good integrated DAC which fact was missed by many Egreat owners. The sound on those is good enough for simple audio installations and oh yes these work concurrently with HDMI output. Have still a Z9S running like that in a friend's living connected HDMI to a TV and analog to an AMP with speakers which works great.
No, I’m not confused. It’s still a DAC — Digital-Analogue Converter. It can’t get from digital to analogue without it. I’m not wrong at all. I never said “extra”, you said that but I did say basic. Stop looking down on people like we don’t know anything, this is why I don’t like this forum, bunch of arrogant, pretentious, narcisistic people.
Just try to clarify, but apparently not appreciated by you. Your reply is far from polite. My point: both Z9X 8K and Z3000 pro have the same integrated DAC only using a different output plug. The topic was about differences!
So is there any information at all about the DAC in the basic players? I'm side-eyeing one of these purely as an audio player as they're cheaper than the Eversolos, and while I appreciate "better than dirt cheap" components, ultimately I don't have the ear of an audiophile so it likely won't make too much of a difference. Still curious though ..
From what I know the UHD3000 and UHD8000 (I can speak for the latter) are damn good sonically and afaik the both have the same pair of DACs built in to them. " HDMI Ports facilitate their use namely "HDMI Main" and HDMI Sudio". Again afaik, the other 8k models don't share these DACs and are limited if you are an Audiophile like myself.
