Seems like a promising product. I wonder, is the X9 UI/Overlay developed specially by Zidoo and therefore any different from the equivalent Kaiboer F5 or other Mstar products (Mele X2000)

If so, does it have extra features its counterparts does not have?

    Extra features:
    HDMI IN PVR Time shift
    XBMC FOR ZIDOO
Kitkat 4.4.2 (Mele X2000 and Kaiboer F5 is android 4.3)
    2.4G / 5G MIMO
    Bluetooth 4.0

    Thanks for answering.
XBMC for Zidoo.............does that mean there NEEDS to be a "special prepared" XBMC installed (i.e. for hardware acceleration) and the user has to wait for Zidoo XBMC updates or can one just download the normal KODI (XBMC) android releases.
If so, can a potential buyers expect regularly updates from Zidoo for KODI

Don't get me wrong, I like the X9 UI more than the Kaiboer UI. The X9 UI is far more elegant and stylish. I'm just trying to justify why the X9 costs almost twice as much as the F5 with (almost) the same hardware

Yes,need a "special prepared" XBMC installed support hardware acceleration. It compilation by Zidoo team. Our development of investment more than double. As you can see is far more elegant and stylish

We have a very flexible OTA upgrade mechanism,Our team very hard to codeing for the X9 project every day, just to make it more perfect

BTW:Zidoo X9 is not the same hardware of F5,F5 have no 5G MIMO and Bluetooth 4.0

Ok, I'm convinced, so far..........and bought an X9 for testing purposes. I'd like to translate the X9 UI into my native language (Dutch). Is that possible?

Oh, one more thing. What is the maximum capacity/class support for the TFcard slot?

I am afraid that "time shift" is either a project or a bad translation. It is possible to plan a recording, in addition to record on the spot.
    But time shift means :
    - you are watching a movie and would not like to miss something
    - you are disturbed (for example by your wife claiming you have not washed the dishes as promised)
    - as you are a good husband, you press a button on the remote and the movie starts a pause,
    - while you are doing you job, the kind zidoo records the movie for you, from the beginning of the pause.
    - having finished your interesting duty, you come back in front of your tv set, with a fresh bottle of beer, press a button on the remote, and you can watch the movie from the pause (provided your wife did not stop the zidoo while you were in the kitchen...).

The main problem is the low capacity of the internal storage, and the need to record and play at the same time (the existing buffering system seems to be not adequate for this purpose).

  10. what buffering system?

  11. about storage, like the LG´s TimeMachine, Zidoo X9 should only allow TimeShift be enabled after a external HDD is plugged in.

about storage, you are right Rogerio,
about buffering: any recording or playing device needs to temporarily store data in a specific location of the internal memory (like swap). There is a system which needs not resources from the processor, allowing better performances.

  13. From what I test so far, the HDMIRecorder puts the frames direct in the specified file (xxx.mp4).
I don´t think it buffers it before writing the final file.
