I wonder if there would be a firmware update to make Z9S able to play the HDR10+ feature in Samsung TVs? And maybe even Dolby Vision? What do you think?
HDR features and improvements is one of the very valid reasons to move from Z9S and above all X9S to the new Z9X (or equivalent model upgrades). The other one will hopefully be streaming services including HD, 4K/HDR combined with HD MCH sound.
believe oppo 203 wa able to add hdr10+ support w a fw upgrade but even if technically feasible, I can understand it might not be in zidoos commercial interest to spend all those dev effort. DV will probably have licensing issue anyway.
Agree prob could be done if the chipset could support it but easier and more business move to have it on the next media box and make sales . Software updates are good but as such dont bring as much revenue as a new Z Series etc
