I have ordered the X10 and need to decide on the storage drive next. I am considering 2.5" SATA SSD with a 2.5" to 3.5" enclosure adapter rather than a 3.5" hard disk. Reason for that is 1) Prices for SSD have dropped quite a bit 2) SSD will keep X10 cooler and I can switch off the fan 3) I may want to reuse the SSD later for some other device Of course, SSD is working in X10. However, I am worried if a SSD is the right choice for X10. The storage needs to be mounted with options suitable for SSD and the operating system needs to schedule the trim command regularly. Is the X10 firmware already prepared for usage of SSD?
Been using ssd for circa 10 months now no issues at all No noise No heat issues No fan on ever No mechanical parts to fail Faster Access to movies loading it seems Yes prices have dropped And you get a 5 year qtee on product .
Hi Guys, Which models of SSD's you're using in your X10's? Mine have damaged HDD/SSD bay (torn away - that's how it came from the GeekBuying seller which denies the warranty...). But I'm thinking of mounting an SSD as an extra drive (on a daily basis I'm using a NAS). Thx and regards!
