Hello, is there a known issue with the mkv files encoded with 5.1 or 7.1 aac codec on Z2000 Pro?
I can't play this type of audio even with the raw setting on HDMI passthrough.
I have a Marantz AV8805 pre-ampli and it should decode them correctly.

No known issues - AAC is decoded to L-PCM by the Zidoo so your amp should see that as a PCM Multi Channel input with no decoding required.

    Try this test file:

    Thanks for your reply!
    I'll surely try it.
But I can confirm that my amp see the files I tried as PCM Multi Channel input. But no sound.

Ah - do you have the volume on the Zidoo turned down?

If so, set Volume Direct Mode in Audio settings.

I have already enabled the Volume Direct Mode

Ok - worth checking - volume at zero is the classic reason for no sound on PCM.

    Thanks, Markswift2003
I haven't changed anything, but it works now. My amp sees the aac codec as pcm and everything is ok.
Since you were so kind, I would like to ask you for another opinion.
I have a video file that the Zidoo palyer can't read, while it works fine with ZDMC.
Could it be a problem related to the 1920x800 resolution?
I read about this problem in some other post
    This is the video report

    Nothing rings alarm bells there.

    Resolution is fine.

Ok, but the Zidoo internal player can't read it, while it works fine with ZDMC.

Could it be the same problem described in the post listed in this forum:
"Z20 PRO still unresolved problems HEVC (CodecID: V_MPEGH/ISO/HEVC) 1920x800"
    (I can't post the link)

Without seeing a file there's no way to tell. I haven't found anything it doesn't play except 10-bit AVC which is expected.

I have a sample of the file on mega, but I can't post the link

    E
Could do with more than 9s, but the file starts and plays fine - what does it do on your player?

This is the link for a bigger sample:

    /file/LnpUHJTB#WF4YlSqFKcpU8kFPXhRDewDQNnAaX-cvTjc7W38IKPE

In fact, after being splitted, the file opens and I can play it, while I still can't open the entire file.
At this point it is obvious that the problem lies in the file, not in the player.

Yep - just downloaded the second file and it behaves very oddly - will play if you scrub to a couple of minutes, but anything below about 1m30s and it either plays at a fast speed or plays with no audio - definitely a case of a dodgy file!
