I currently use a Zappiti One 4K PHDR network media player with an internal 4TB HDD.
I am replacing it with a Zidoo Pro 1000.
Can I simply disk swap the HDD to the Zidoo and keep all my files intact or do i have to do a complete reformat and install on the Zidoo?

just plug it in and you just have to add the collection to zidoo and all your movies should come into the poster wall. You do not need to format the drive if already formatted to zidoo specs. I just purchased a Zidoo z2600. All I did was removed the drive from my Zappiti Neo and plugged it into the internal drive bay of the new unit. Powered it up and went thru the setup. Once completed I just opened explorer and had it scan the drive and all my movies came in. The new drive will be listed under smb samba. Make sure you enable SMB Samba during your device setup. You will see a drive called ZD_SAMBA, Look in the share folder and all your movies should be there.

Should be good - as long as the filenames are sensible.
