A friend of mine has a strange problem with his Zidoo X9. As soon he connects his box to a network (LAN or WLAN) he is getting an error message that "Mcast has stopped" He already did a fresh installation of the firmware but the problem is persistent. Fortunately two other boxes do not show up that issue (the box of another friend and my own box). Any proposals ? PS: He tried to register to this forum to post that problem by himself but he is waiting for the registration confirmation from Zidoo since a couple of days ...
Your friends tried to restore factory settings?maybe can try it.May be the installed the third app cause this issue
I have the picture taken after the factory settings have been set and connected LAN. Without LAN is not an error. After clicking OK, I can use the Zidoo Box. Sorry for my bad english.
Settings>System>Back&reset>Factory data reset>Reset TV If firmware above v1.0.2.7,You can press "reset" then power on,X9 will be enter the recovery menu. Select the wipe data.
Thanks for you Help! I am not at home. Will try again tomorrow. I have the Mcast error since the original firmware. ( 1.0.2.3) The factory settings I have done so. Settings>System>Back&reset>Factory data reset and clear SD Card. Once the player has Internet access, the advertising of Geekbying is installed.
Problems - Factury Reset over the GUI can be performed but KODI Settings are not wiped !!! - Factury Reset by using the Reset Button results in the following message "Operation failed" What do I do? Should I try to update "MstarUpgrade.bin"via USB ?
Try Quickboot to run the recovery. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot BUT : I'm not sure whether you are able to use the remote control while you are in the recovery mode. In case it works, wipe the cache, wipe the dalvik cache and if possible perform the reset there as well.
After firmware Upgrade with MstarUpgrade.bin (MstarUpgrade is the Version 1.0.2.6) This picture was taken after the upgrade and connect the LAN cable. No USB HD or Stick connected ! After OTA Upgrade the old Problem
Same here with my defective zidoo, it hapen when connecting to network. When I deconnect from network I also have zidoorc has stop.
I found the following. The problem is not a Hardware problem! MCast is an Airplay implementation, but which do not work properly or stable. When multiple sources of airplay on the network that Mcast crasht. I have multiple Apple devices. (iPhones and iPads). Without Apple devices on a separate network Mcast does not crash. But when I try to play music or videos, with a single source (example iPhone 6) crasht the MCast. - Possibility to disable the MCast Service - possibility the "Airplay Name" rename @Development Team, please fix it
Actualy there is only my printer, my NAS, and my zidoo and my android tablet no air pin. If we could at least disable it setting I do not use that.
The topic should not be forgotten @Development Team - Possibility to disable the MCast Service - possibility the "Airplay Name" rename
