I've been using my Z1000 Pro w/ 2 Synology NAS devices for almost 2 years and its been flawless. I watched a movie this morning, came down to watch another and all my sources are gone. On the Poster Wall it just says "There is no poster" and "Open Sources" is the only option. If I go to add sources I can see all my SMB source folders that were originally there however they appear empty. Logging in to the NAS via my Laptop I can see all my media in those folders. No settings on the NAS or the Zidoo have changed. All my Display/Custom settings on the Zidoo remain so its not like its been reset. Both NAS and Zidoo all have static IPs which are unchanged. And it literally worked this morning and then didn't this afternoon. @Markswift2003 you ever seen anything like this???? I'm beyond frustrated trying to make this work.
Completely power down the Zidoo and your NAS, restart and see if your poster wall is restored. If not, try add your sources again. You can also use the Zidoo File Manager to confirm that the Zidoo sees your movies. Did you make a back-up of your poster wall? If so, try restoring it. Perhaps someone else can make a suggestion before you try a full "System Restore". It's been my experience that if you lose the connection between your source drives, rescanning via SMB will allow you to restore your poster wall fairly easily...but it takes some time. If you haven't made a back-up of your poster wall, it's a good idea to do so once you are back up and running. Similar things have happened to me over the years and I've been able to restore, even if it means re-scraping all the drives. FWIW, I also have 2 Synology NAS devices and the files remain in place even if there if the Zidoo loses its way. Good Luck, and please post again about your status and what it took to restore your poster wall.
I've powered all devices off/on multiple times and nothing. If I try and add the sources again, the folders appear empty on the Zidoo even though they are clearly not. Don't have a backup (or at least a recent one). So I know I didn't lose the content but now I can't see anything on the Zidoo even if I readd. While I hate the idea of having to rematch a 1500 movie library it's not the end of the world. But I can't even see any of the movies on my Zidoo right now.
No, sorry, never seen anything like that. The only time I've ever seen "There is no poster" when the library database is intact is when the network resource isn't available to the Zidoo - that's obviously happened here, but why, I have no idea. But something has to have changed somewhere for this to happen.
Can you see your files in Zidoo's file manager? If so, perhaps the Poster Wall app has become corrupted. You could try reinstalling the Poster Wall app and try to reconnect your NAS drives. As Mark wrote, it would appear that the network sources are not available to the Zidoo.
That's actually what I ended up doing. I reset all the App data and still couldn't see the folders via the Poster Wall app. I went to the Zidoo file manager and there all the folders were. I went back into the Poster Wall App and I could see everything. Nothing on my network changed. Everything is static. Its so bizarre. I had to readd all sources and am in the process of correcting mismatched titles (such a PITA). The weird thing is, when scanning, it seems to be missing folders. So my V2 folder says "79/87" scanned. Why would there be so many missing folders not scanned? Is there a way to see what's not scanned? I added 3 sources and all 3 have at least a few folders not scanned.
Hi All, i'm not sure if this is the right tweet, but i will try it here i have the problem that from time to time i lost the connected NAS Folder and than the posters of the movies are not shown on the movie wall. Unfortunatelly this is only one folder and ever the same one of many, if i go out of the Movie wall and to the file manager it ist show (in german) "nicht eingelegt" means not connected, but if i click on it all movies will shown normaly. If i go back than to the movie wall everythink is fine, until the next time. As workaround it's easy to do the steps, but it's not realy comfortable over a long time. Have anyone an idea what i can do? see attached picture!
I've had some trouble with this issue too. I have a new Z3000 Pro and a newer Z30 Pro. I've had the Z3000 for almost a month and I am having to add the sources for the third time. All my movie content is on a Synology NAS. Nothing local. I originally suspected that the IP address had changed, because I'm using DHCP, but every time, the IP address is the same and the NAS is detected with a new SMB scan. The credentials are gone though and have to be re-entered. The sources are still listed but are labeled as Invalid. While having this issue with the Z3000 Pro, the Z30 Pro is using the same sources successfully and the Poster Wall on the Z30 is working fine. I've only had the Z30 for eight days though, so perhaps I just haven't encountered the issue on that one yet. I do have a backup of the Poster Wall data that I've created in an, as yet, unsuccessful attempt to sync my content between the two players. The backup location is on the NAS and that entry is gone too. It's also prompting for credentials to be re-entered. The Z3000 Pro's software version is v1.2.01, while the Z30 has an older software version of v1.1.60. Right now, I'm still classifying this as a minor annoyance.
Allow DHCP to allocate up to say .200 or what you like and IP’s above that fixed like your Zidoo and sources and the important stuff like NAS. etc. I had the same issue way back on my UHD3000. That fixed it.
