How do I program my Z9X remote?

Hi, I recently got the zidoo z9x and tried to follow the steps on the back of the remote but it doesn't work. It says to hit the set key but the set key isn't on the remote and i've tried other buttons. Does anyone know or has set up this remote to let me know what to do?

The Set key is the one with a cog on it:

 

I do this right and the button that should light up to set it up doesn't. I put it near the tv, do I need to have the Zidoo closer to the tv's sensor or does it mean have the 2 remotes between each other? Didn't work when I tried some of these.
