I will let you know if I manage to trip over it. FWIW , I do not believe it exists at this time for the RT1619xx soc.

Wanted to say thanks again for this - HT5 is game changer compared to HT4.

I've placed a copy of this file away for safe keeping - if Zidoo do release a new f/w and they break trailers again, I can simply reload this version as it just works.

Is it easy to install the .apk I have just downloaded from the link provided earlier? Mention is made of an apk Installer - i'd appreciate it if someone ( maybe @Oldpainless ) could explain please?

    Thanks

Download and copy to one of the storage devices attached to your Zidoo.

Next, on the Zidoo. enter Apps, and then select apkinstaller. It will scan your devices for apps/apks. It should find the downloaded HT app/apk. Select it so that a tick is marked on the left hand side of the app name, and select install....

Let me know how it goes, as it's working as it should on my Z1000pro.

It installs by just clicking on the apk through media center ( file explorer for zidoo) or you can install it via the apk install web portal or the way mentioned above. It's signed so it's not going to fail on any rtd1619 soc. If you are familiar with and you can install various ways with shell as well. The easiest is just to stick on a smb / nfs share or load via via usb. So many ways to skin the cat.

This version is much more usable with windows 11 as fileserver. With the HT in 6.4.65 i had many problems with invalid logon requests (SMB 1) at startup and invalid sources. With this version i see only one SMB 2 logon request and even if i forgot to switch the Windows 11 fileserver on at boot and switch it on later, it reconnects quickly.

Yeah..I tried the apkinstaller app and got bored waiting for it to search through all my drives...
Kicked out into media center, navigated to the file, and clicked on it...
I played around in it for a bit last night and it seems to be quite a nice upgrade...
Thanks again OP for posting this!

I'm assuming that until ZIDOO releases this as part of an overall official firmware, the block in the launch screen will continue to read HT4 even though we have the updated app with this apk...

For those that went the ADB route for installation after uninstalling HT4, does your home screen have HT5 listed?

Text banner readers Home Theater 5.0. It is the same icon though as HT 4.0 and i installed from shell without anything on at the time because I was trying to extract HT 5 from a different firmware, which is not the full apks. Requires additional dependencies, and using various APK tool Screenshot_20240726-012543.png Screenshot_20240726-012537.png Screenshot_20240726-012331.png kits I was unable to solve the issue. Its the same in the app drawer by pressing down on the home screen as well, however on cancer skin it just says PosterWall Movie Perfection on the skin i am using. I actually dont use cancer typically and just use ATV launcher which I like 1000 times better. Its not as good as projectivity launcher but i like the layout, I did custom badges on it and it works for me.

I set my z1000pro @ 1080p@60, with match framerate and resolution, as I prefer my LG OLED to upscale sub 4k (that way when I play a 4k movie, it switches to 2160p) (and, the Zidoo will not output all 4.3 1080p and sub content at native res)).....and I have to say HT5 is pretty much buttery smooth at 1080p (not tried it 4k).

Thanks for posting this. I updated my Z1000 Pro this morning.

A nice touch is the labels are now in colour:

Although I was sure on the older firmware that this movie has an Atmos label.

Agree with the above comments that the interface is a little bit faster once scanned.

Thanks for this updating my z1000 pro was easy, helps take the sting out of the delay shipment of the new models. Noticed the new labels right away. :)

If I install this on my UHD3000 using the link provided, does it replace version 4.0 or will I have duplicate home theater apps? After installing the APK, would I need to change any settings or anything for it to default to the new version?

Going to try this tonight, what firmware is everyone running for this? I'm still on the last stable web based release.
