The zidoo X9S support 4tb extranl hard drive?

 

Should be ok. Gpt format is optimal.

 

The zidoo X9S come to me today and the 4tb external drive works great!

Sorry but what is GPT???? And how do you format it that way????

 

It's a partition table. More advanced than the old mbr that windows used.

Any partition utility will have option to format NTFS with GPT table

I am on a Mac so format with ntfs is a bummer

 

Ok I discover it has a different name it's GUID

 

I installed the new 1.4.4 firmware and it solves the format problem, But there no option to format as internal storage. This is strange since other Android boxes all have this.

 

I know SD cards have option. Never tried HDD tho.

its under android/storage, click the HDD/ settings ( top right ) format as internal storage

 

well. seems with new firmware the option is no longer there..

 

Strange do you know where it is now???

 

Seems removed from patch notes, probably not fixed properly yet?

It is there on mine and works without problems even for USB-drives (provided there is no partition on it). Did not try a HDD or SSD.
