    Download and unzip this file:

    https://mega.nz/#!XIs3wCrb!zWLXm2a_gnfi2Hmifv3IbR-PeCnuyjHPcPzmgkqkrVs

    Then do this:

    Emergency Flash Procedure
    =========================

    1. Copy the unzipped file to an empty FAT32 USB stick

    2. Rename file to "install.img"

    3. Turn off player using switch on back

    4. Plug USB stick into USB 3.0 Port (a blue one on the side)

    5. Press and hold reset button under the drive bay with something pointy while applying power

    6. Wait for on screen confirmation before releasing reset button.

    **Do not turn off during this procedure**

    If you followed those instructions EXACTLY then it seems like the bootloader is u/s.

    The first time you did it was the USB stick FAT32, was the file renamed correctly and was it plugged into a USB 3.0 port?

    In that case, unfortunately the only place I can point you at is here:

    RTD1619 Unbrick

    If you can't revive the box with an emergency flash as above, the only recourse is to solder a UART to the board, connect to a terminal emulator (PuTTY is a good one) and attempt to repair the boot loader.

    I seem to remember that the motherboard on the Z1000 is the same as the Z9X which may or may not help.

    I did this back in 2020 with a Z9X that I bricked and the guy who wrote that website helped me out but it was a long time ago...

    Look on the bright side - good excuse to upgrade.
