Hi Zidoo. I am Finless Bob from FreakTab.com. I am interested in this box and may be getting one. Are there any Linux tools for unpacking the .bin firmware files? Bob
Well I did unpack it using binwalk but cannot repack it. But some tool makes the firmware! Where can we get that? If there is no way to make custom firmware, not many people will be interested I this platform.
Compared with other schemes MSTAR uses a different Android,So custom firmware is insignificant. Our team will provide a timely response to the needs of users
To mirror, i just don't get it. There is development section in your forum and according to what you said above,Zidoo doesn't need custom firmwares from developers? So what is the point of having development section in this forum? In case you don't know,Bob ,who is an administrator of Freaktab.com, has build and written a lot of custom firmwares ( which are more stable and run much better than original ones) for popular android boxes on the market currently. p/s : Is quantcook( ebay seller) an authorized seller of Zidoo? Thank you
I'm so sorry, I have no intention of disrespect .I know freaktab has made many contributions for Android TV-box in the previous, I also had a communication with Ray before. However, Mstar uses a totally different system, it possesses a underlying code developed entirely by itself and Android system. It is not similar to other chips which at the same standard, such as Rockchip, Amlogic. As you can see, there is no unpack & repack tools at all. Certainly,we are willing to do secondary development technique in this box with others, and we will open some source codes at the appropriate time, such as XBMC. Simultaneously,as you can see, Our team is so hard to do somethingo, which is completely different from all the android boxes in China. And we are strengthful enough to do something special and customization. Our R&D team is leading in the whole Android-Box market. Now, we want to say a word to all companies selling boxes oversea: we are coming.
