Unfortunately I noticed that it is possible to delete files (films) only if this is in a folder. If the file to be deleted is outside any folder, but is free on the HD, it is not possible to delete it. Why?
Can you access the drive from a PC by SMB and delete from there? You'll need to switch on the SMB server in Network Settings.
No nothing. Only files that are in a folder can be deleted or moved. If they are out of the folder and are in the root of the HD they don't get deleted and don't move. For example, it doesn't even write me the cover files. If I want to save the cover and posterwall data on each HD inside the ZIDOO it won't let me do it. It has no write permission. If instead I connect an external USB HD, I can do everything. All files, even those outside the folder are deleted and it makes me save the posterwall data on the HD itself. Very strange. Is it possible that no one has ever encountered the problem and has not communicated the problem to the manufacturer?
If you can't delete using a PC then there must be something wrong in the file attributes. The simplest answer is that they could be write protected, but they also could be locked if they are being used by another process. Whatever the reason, if you try to delete in Windows, Windows will tell you the reason. I've never seen this issue before and I very much doubt it's a Zidoo issue.
