Control4 Driver

Anybody have luck getting the v23 c4 driver working with this gen of zidoo? The first one we tried kind of works but WOL, power off and the color buttons don’t work.

 

I use Crestron not Control4 but the protocols are the same between all boxes so any driver that works on a DR box should work on a BPD or an AML box whether RS232 or IP.

And a magic packet is a magic packet so I can't think of a reason WOL doesn't work unless the MAC address is wrong.

 

Good news, we loaded a newer driver and now it works : )

 

Do you know which driver you're using? I'm using the one provided by Zidoo. Previously was using the "official" driver from C4. The Zidoo one, while significantly older, seems more stable. However, one issue I've had is temporaily losing IP control of the Zidoo. Sometimes when it starts up, it won't respond to commands from my C4 remote or C4 app. I know its not C4 because I can still control the projector, volume for the AVR etc. It's only the Zidoo. When the control returns (usually after about 60-90 seconds) it goes through a bunch of the commands that had previously been entered on the remote. So if I pressed "right" twice, it would move over 2 once control resumes. After that little timeout, it works fine for the duration of the movie. And its seemingly random, sometime it starts up without issue.

 

I’m not sure because it’s all dealer managed, but I suspect the latest v23. First we tried the old one in the c4 db. Basic functions worked but power on using WOL and power off was broken and the color button mappings (red, green, blue, yellow) didn’t work.

Then he said he loaded a newer one from “the internet”, same result. I sent him the v23 driver and later noticed an update to my c4 system and that one works. I can ask next time I talk to him

Now WOL, power off and color buttons worked. On the Zidoo I setup red for the audio button and green for subtitle button and it all works. z2000 pro

 

Thanks! Would be interested to see if its the same one I'm using. Or if it could solve this IP control issue.

 

v23 works for me C4 3.4.3

 

Yep v23 is working well. Has quite a bit of lag but it works

 

Is it hardwired? I don't have lag

 

Yeah, hard wired. Using the c4 remote or app is noticeably sluggish compared to the zidoo remote

 

Hmm, I'm not having it on this driver, the old 6 driver was slow as hell. Hardwired and static IP and my mac is listed in the driver

 

What do you mean 6 driver? Unfortunately I have no visibility into the c4 side so I can’t see what he has configured. My zidoo is on DHCP reservation so it always has the same IP, and he must have the MAC to make WOL work.

It all works it’s just slow

I also have the issue someone else reported where sometimes it stops responding to c4 for 60-90 seconds then “catches up” and is ok after that

 

if you have composer or composer he you can see the details of the driver and the settings. mine I'm on 23 the one that comes from control4's DB is version 6. I have a halo remote if that makes a difference. the older remotes are zigbee and that another layer of traffic and translation but nothing that would justify 90 seconds of delay.

 

I have a halo touch, the newest one and the v23 driver. I don’t have compose. Like the other guy said the thing where it just locks up for 60-90 seconds is just once.

When I say lag I mean generally browsing the poster wall and moving around the UI. It is noticeably slow, even my wife mentioned this

 

im not doubting you just seeing if there is something different to see if it would help.
