Can you go back to an earlier firmware

If one updates to the latest and you find it creates more problems than are worth, can you depreciate back to an earlier version. If so where is the repository of earlier firmwares for the UHD 3000 Currently I'm on v6.1.07

Am I right in assuming I place the zip file in the root of a USB memory stick or do I need to unzip first?

 

You've to copy the zip file to the USB stick.

 

Thanks, my previous media player was the reverse, unzip and put the resulting folder on the USB stick formatted as FAT..... a habit of 10 years

 

Make sure you follow the instructions to the letter - I've bricked two devices doing this and not paying attention.
