you may not be able to eject it using the system the box has, depends if you have braces also in the front. but yes, it should work.

Just been looking at the first link also :)

Just installed albeit a good few years old 1tb samsung 3.5 drive and found it a bit noisy distracting ( humming ) when zidoo on .
But id imagine the new 3.5 drives are a lot quiter now ?

Or go smaller 2.5 inch drive internal .

My portable usb 3.0 hard drive is silent i find .
So debating which is the best option and less clutter etc

    Thanks

Yah. I got me a 4tb 5400 rpm HDD just to have less noise, works good so far. Keep in mind also that zidoo has no rubber like in usb enclosure.

    Hello delucas,

i have a WD red (5400 Tr/mn), and it is very quiet

    Does not take a 7200Tr / mn

    see you

Id imagine you do not need the fast action spin ( 7200 rpm ) on just playing back movies etc
So will look in to a slower spin model .

And was thinking on the WD

    Thanks

the WD (for NAS) are good, or the Seagate Archive (5900TR/mn) too but slower in writing.

Also looking at the Samsung 850 1 tb evo ssd overkill but silent
But so expensive at circa £279.00 plus mounting bracket .

true. i got a seagate barracuda 4Tb 5400 RPM, i still get 113 MB write speed over lan, so you won't miss 7200 rpm at all, for the same price you can get a 3TB ironwolf (NAS hdd, same 5400 rpm ) depends on what you want from the drive, i don;t plan to run it 24/7 so i went for more space :) 5400 RPM is quieter than the x10 fan, so a SSD won't help much :p you will still need the fan ON for cooling
