USB can have a mind of its own sometimes does the drive have its own power supply or is it powered off the USB port ?

I should add here that I have found USB drives are more reliable when using there own power supply and also keep an eye on the drive temps some bays don't have very good cooling which makes the drive misbehave not really a problem when the drive is not under load but can when being pushed.

Two of my drives are powered but they have the delay as often as the one non-powered one. Like I said, it's the most minor of annoyances.

I'm confused... what is the stable release for the Z9X Pro and where can I find it in the forum?
My OTA is stuck to 10.0.69 and I wonder if it will ever find a new one...

Yes, the beta .86 is stable and latest. You will find that one in the forum but sometimes OTA.

Beta updates are rarely provided OTA - always look on the forum for the latest.

Was it too much trouble to tell the guy it's available in the first post of this thread? Sheesh!

I just updated and lost my SMB shares, can no longer access from my Windows computers?

Edit NM the SMB name changed from ZD_Samba to OS_Samba.

The HDMI audio output has sound dropouts with Z2600 and UHD5000, please fix this issue.

Yeah, and instead of mentioning that significant change in the release notes we need to figure it out ourselves. The admin aspects of Zidoo's software handling (version handling, release notes, OTA...) are just mindbogglingly amateurish. There seems to be no product management at all, just developers (and they seem few and far between for this new product line).

    Venting over :)

Hi 2 All, i'm new here and have Z9X Pro. Question is - any plans to add ability to read audiotrack's tags such a "Commentary by director Peter Jackson and writer Philippa Boyens"?

And what a pain in the ass it was to fix it. There's no way to change the name on your PC, you have to change it in the zidoo, and it took forever to position the cursor so that you could delete the OS and change it to ZD. You can't just start at the end and backspace to delete everything, pressing the _ key makes a sound but doesn't actually put a _ in the name box. So you have to position the cursor before the _ and backspace from there. Grrrr...

If you have access to a USB keyboard it definitely makes data entry into any of these media processors much easier.

Can I please get a confirmation of the VC1 playback bug that I (and others) have experienced? This problem occurs on all VC1 encoded content that I have tested. If I stop a movie and then restart/resume at the same position the video stutters very badly (audio is fine). Nothing can reset the stutter except cleanly restarting the movie. Once started normally I can skip forward/backward, pause, and chapter skip without a problem. But if I stop and then resume, the video is unwatchable. This was not an issue on the last general release version, but all of the betas since (including .86) have shown this bug. Thank you for looking into this problem.

    Good morning,

The first problem I noticed with my 5000 was switching from stereo to multichannel in an iso sacd file by pressing the remote control. Listening in stereo is good but when I switch to multichannel there is too much noise, the files move forward, slow down, listening is impossible. Video and films pose no problem, however. I tried the resets including the factory restore iso file. I own a neo s and have no problem with the same installation hardware.

The second problem now is that the 5000 does not recognize any audio format (16 bits, 24 bits, cue, bin, flac, sacd iso) but playing movies poses no problem.

I think I have done all the possible manipulations (I know the zidoo products very well (I had the 1000 pro, 2000, z2600, neo s, 5000, alpha)

    This is where I am

check the seperate multichannel thread we have going

in settings / Audio RAW will allow a lot more mch stuff to work but mch sacd/ dsf /iso will only work in 2 ch atm with iso being noisy/glitchy
Flac up to 24-96 mch seems ok and m4a

One thing ive noticed that finally does work well with Audio files ,is the system selecting on and off for the USB Audio selector being automatic now ,rather than a manual Settings change everytime you want to swap from USB audio to normal hdmi playback , ie system will automaticlly turn the setting on /off when my Topping DAC is turned on or off ,detecting thru the usb......VERY much appreciated

Use Tsmuxer to demux your files to M2TS....then the problem should be fixed.

It worked for all my playback issues except the random occasionally stutter as mentioned in a separate thread.

Any solution to the slower transfer speed using the new firmware. Are people still experiencing issues?
