Hey guys I currently have a Z20 i have a 12tb hd coming in the next few days and will be installing it. I will be looking at transferring my movies over the network to the installed drive on the Z20 however my issue at the moment is i cannot seem to access then Z20 over my network from the PC. I can access my PC from the zidoo to stream my TV and movies from the hard drives plugged into them but i cannot seem to access my Zidoo from the PC to access the drive plugged into it (External at the moment) I have tried it wireless and wired, samba on and off, samba password on and off. All SMbs are checked on. I can see my Z20 in the network on windows but when i click on it all i get is Not Found The requested URL was not found on this server. ive tried just with the ip in address bar and still no joy, Can someone tell me what i'm missing ? Like i said i can stream from my pc to the zidoo and find all my pc files on the zidoo but i cannot access the zidoo from my pc
Obviously making sure that the SAMBA server is switched on on the Zidoo with authentication set as you want, the easiest way is to open an explorer window and use the IP address like \\<IP_ADDRESS>
If you can see the box but not the share then that's a separate issue, already reported - I've not been able to replicated but the devs have and should be fixed in the next release.
I can see the share folder, but nothings in the folder. See my Zappiti and Dune players just fine, but not Zidoo? Thanks for the info.
If You dont't see folder inside the zidoo from the Computer, you need to install the alpha firmware 1.0.58 .
Hello. I my situation I can see Zidoo from my PC on SMB protocol, but this is Zidoo internal memory shared. Problem is, that I can not assign any internal HDD space to share. There is no way to do so. Is Zidoo Company going to fix that? The question is also what is the version of SMB protocol? How to manage the protocol used?
It was confusing for me but I learned in another post that the long series of letters/numbers under the share is the SATA connected drive, the Storage folder is the internal OS store. However I still have an issue accessing files in the external drive folder - I can see the ZD_SAMBA\Share\DRIVESERIAL\$Recycle.bin (and folders within the $Recycle.bin) - no other folders on the external SATA connected drive (Z2600) are visible from my PC. I have tested and I can create files and folders in the root share folder (I cannot see them from PC, but can access them and delete them from the Z2600) however I cannot navigate to the movie folders on the sata drive from the PC. I have created a folder called Movies in the Recycle.bin folder and I can see it after creation - copying movies to it now from my PC for testing. Seems like permission settings for the external drive are enabling read/write, but not folder view... Anyone have a fix for this??
