No I'm just trying to figure out how you're defining transparent. If you want a preamp that's totally transparent, ( ie deepest and widest sound stage and resolves every last detail) you're going to have to spend a lot more than $2000 on a stand alone preamp. I've heard a topping pre90 and gustard preamps. They don't come close to a hegel p30.
Transparent means "not altering". It has nothing to do about sound stage or details, apart from presenting them as-close-as-possible as received from the audio source - in this case a DAC.
Oh, so it doesn't color the music. I would call that neutral, not transparent. But now I know what you mean thanks
This debate is in too many threads, please kindly continue in this thread: Measurements v Ears: Dawn of Audio
What? I see the Passthrough button here in a picture from a very respectable member of ASR: https://audiosciencereview.com/foru...rsolo-dmp-a-8-purité-audio.49706/post-1792064
Anyone had success with downloading the A8 manual from the Eversolo site, seems to always quit on me ?
Found this link to the A8 manual on a HeadFi forum : https://music.eversolo.com/dmp/instruction/EVERSOLO-DMP-A8-User-Manual-v1.0.pdf There are two further manuals linked via QR codes inside this manual, the direct links are : https://music.eversolo.com/dmp/instruction/DSP.pdf https://music.eversolo.com/dmp/instruction/DSP_FIR.pdf
Will this occur in every thread now. That’s quite boring actually I mean that « kind of » dispute on everything nutul or others are saying. You have your opinions let other’s have them too Thank you
I hope it was better than this effort, https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...s/hegel-h95-review-streaming-amplifier.28435/ Keith
Hi, did you already make up your mind? What were your findings? Which did you like better? I am in a similar situation. Want to test pre of DMP A8 versus Naim Supernait 3.
I have also bought the DMP-A8. The sound quality is very good. But the volume level is very low. I use it as a pre-amp to drive my Myryad MA240 Amp. Is there no way to up the output, I use the analog RCA output. I have tried to use the EQ and go up on the volume but then it will distort the signal. Happy for any answers Greetings Lee
Hello Keith, Thanks for your reply. Do you mean to go from XLR output to RCA input? When I use the balanced input, it makes no differnece in volume.
Yes output , http://music.eversolo.com/dmp/instruction/EVERSOLO-DMP-A8-User-Manual-v1.0.pdf ‘Analogue output characteristics ‘ 4.2 v compared to 2.1 for RCA. Keith
Lee also make sure there are no volume controls attenuating before the Eversolo, your PC/tablet phone whatever, have those fully ‘on’ and let the Eversolo attenuate. Keith
Hello Keith, I will check this! Mostly use the internal player with Tidal. Do you know if you can switch off the clicking from the volume knob? My dog jumps up from these clicks Greetings Lee
