Making Z1000 Pro passiv cooled?

    Hi I would like to here if any of you have made the Z1000 Pro passive cooled? if so.

    1. how?

    2. If so, dose it work flawlessly?

    Using a SSD or 2.5 inch HDD with an 2.5 => 3.5 inch adapter produces very limited heat. Turning the fan off under that condition is pretty safe to do.

    Thanks for your answer.

    Sorry I didn’t specify that I am using a NAS, and don’t want to use HDD in the zidoo, because I have multiple players around the house.

    So is it possible to go passive when using a NAS?

    Yes - the fan's only there to keep the temperature controlled when a hard disc is installed. Just switch the fan off in settings.

    Thanks, if the zidoo is getting to hot do I get a warning or?

    I've never had mine switched on and with a silent(ish) HDD internally all housed in a closed cabinet, I've never had an issue or even the slitest sound. Hope this helps

    Just turn it off. No problem whatsoever.
