I'm hoping someone can help me decide what I need. Here is my current setup; Samsung 2016 - UN65KU7500 It can play the following Video & Audio Video - 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project, .3gp) AVI (Audio Video Interleaved, .avi) ASF (Advanced Systems Format, .asf .wma .wmv) DivX (.avi, .divx, .mkv) Flash Video (.flv, .f4v, .f4p, .f4a, .f4b) H.263 H.264 / MPEG-4 Part 10 / AVC video H.265 / MPEG-H Part 2 / HEVC MKV (Matroska Multimedia Container, .mkv .mk3d .mka .mks) M2TS (Blu-ray Disc Audio-Video (BDAV) MPEG-2 Transport Stream, .m2ts, .MTS) MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14, .mp4, .m4a, .m4p, .m4b, .m4r, .m4v) MPEG-4 TS (MPEG Transport Stream, .ts, .tsv, .tsa) VC-1 VP7 VP8 VP9 VOB (Video Object, .VOB) VRO (DVD-VR, .VRO) WebM WMV (Windows Media Video, .wmv) Audio - 2 CH down firing + bass reflex Dolby Digital Plus DTS Premium Sound 5.1 I will be getting in August a Nakamichi Dragon, that is eARC compatible and plays Dolby Atmos. My question is I should connect the Zidoo to the Dragon, then the Dragon directly to the ARC port on the TV? Would that give me Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos? OR do I need to purchase an HD Fury, and if so which should I purchase? **Side note I will be updating my TV later on this year or early next year. Thank you all in advance.
Can't see a need for an HDFury here although I'd highly recommend the likes of a Vertex2 for anyone slightly interested in this as a hobby. I'd always connect source>amp>display wherever possible, using ARC/eARC as a last resort.
Thanks a lot @Markswift2003 I'll probably get the Vertex 2 next month then. Would this still be useful on a new Sony X95L, I ask because that is the TV that I will be getting to replace this 2016 TV.
Should you get this type of equipment if you have a HD projector (in my case a Sony VPL-HW65) and watching 4k movies? Am I missing something out? Thought the VS10 engine in the Zidoo would take care of everything. Edit: This projector does not have HDR or Dolby Vision, and only supports 1080P input.
@Markswift2003 hey brother, I actually asked for the Vertex 2 and my kids got me the VRROOM instead. Not bad huh? Any suggestions on setup?
I know right, I am blessed for sure. I don't have it yet, but If you've got any tips on how I should set it up or what videos I should be looking at I'd appreciate it.
The best source of info is either on AVS - they have dedicated threads with people who know an awful lot more about them than I do, and their Discord server. https://www.avsforum.com/threads/hdfury-vrroom-owners-thread.3228875/ https://discord.com/invite/XWzPRRP But my advice is have a play first so you get to know how it works.
