OK, bit the bullet and pulled down the update and flashed the device via USB. Seems fine but "4. Long titles will have a moving effect at playback interface" isn't working as expected when playing via Roon. The long title of the track starts to scroll across by a few pixels and then bounces back to the start which is actually more irritating than not scrolling at all! The screensaver clock issue not respecting the clock format chosen seems to be fixed.
i really hoped this update would have brought down the minimum sound volume of -60 db. With a bigger amplifier directly attached the lowest volume is not low that much. Could that be in an update too ?
No, it has no volume control. Also it is connected by XLR with de streamer. I could connect with RCA to bring the signal down, but still I think -60 db is quite high.
How do you update this via USB drive? I downloaded the zip file, unpacked it to a USB drive formatted to FAT32 and plugged into the DMP-A6 USB-OTG port. When I try to run upgrade on the DMP-A6 I get to the part where you can pick USB as the source and then select the USB-OTG. However, it appears to only see three directories and no file to select. Is there a document on the upgrade process via USB? Thx in advance.
You dont't need to un-pack the ZIP file, just copy the whole of the downloaded ZIP to the root of the USB stick.
Hey, what did it look like for you...I have the A6 on, insert USB, it says it recognizes the drive. Open it. I see the ZIP file, when I tap on it, it says the file is unrecognizeable. I did reboot the system while the USB was in, but this also didn't lead to it using the file.
In OSX I notice that when downloading a zipped file it will uncompress the file and place the folder in Downloads folder. The original zipped file gets shoved in the Bin. I copied the zipped file from the Bin onto USB key and was able to successfully update A6! Thanks for your help.
