Hi Mark, I spent some time playing about trying different settings last night and the biggest difference I saw was when using LLDV. When using TV LED DV the image seemed flat and not particularly that great, but when using LLDV the image had depth, the colours seemed more vibrant and overall a lot nicer experience. I'm happy with that .
I was reluctant to try that setting as after a quick Google it seems that people generally regard it as inferior.
To my untrained eye, that isn't the case so I'm sticking with it.
    Thanks again for your help.

    No, LLDV is not inferior!

There were some tests a couple of years ago by someone on Youtube that for a while everyone caused a stir, but it was monumentally flawed and produced skewed results.

On the face of it, LLDV just processes the DV metadata in the box and TV Led in the TV, however, in these boxes, TV Led is also processed in the box for convenience because the enhancement layer is not used. There are some bugs with LLDV and TV Led which Dolby have been aware of for years and seemingly just can't be arsed fixing, but in all honestly, because of the way they manifest, you'd honestly never see them in real content.

So yeah, I'd stick with LLDV.

    Good morning
Since yesterday I noticed on my Z9X in settings>Display that the resolution stays set to locked (720p 60Hz).
Even if I set to the locked value (3840x2160p 60Hz) when I restart the box it always goes back to locked (720p 60Hz).
I performed the reset procedure (flashing) and then restored the latest update 6.4.68, but the situation has not changed.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Got to be something to do with the EDID it reads as it boots up - what's it connected to?

I also imagined this possibility , so I disconnected the output from HDFURY AVR Key and connected the box directly to LG B6 display,
but the problem is not solved.

So with the box connected directly to the TV, if you switch the TV on and wait for it to full boot and then switch on the Zidoo, does it still happen?

Yes. I always get the resolution locked at 720p.

Ok - with the system like that - Zidoo > TV - can you post your edid:

    To Download EDID
    ================

    Settings/Display/Custom EDID/Save EDID

Save to a USB stick or network location

Post file as attachment to forum

I tried again to save via network now I got the file correctly

    Attached Files:

    • edid.bin
      File size:
      256 bytes

So I loaded that EDID into my Vertex, connected a Z9X and booted and it booted into 4K60 so I've got no idea what's going on here - your EDID is ok - goes up to 4K60 so I've no idea why yours sticks at 720p.

Have you tried turning off Lock Resolution?

I turned off the resolution lock, and it still comes out to 720p

Very odd - what have you got "HDR" set to?

    Automatic

Got to admit you've got me stumped on this one - makes no sense at all - especially since me adding your EDID to my Vertex replicates your setup as far as the Zidoo is concerned...

Maybe it is the box that has some problems.

It can't be a hardware problem.

Should I direct suspicion to my old B6 display?

    Swap your HDMI cable first!

The very strange thing is that in playback the information on the screen seems to respect the video file being played.

No - the only way a display can have an influence like that is with the EDID and that's fine.

Not HDMI either - that can't affect the source settings themselves, only their ability to display.
