Exactly. Not even close to the A6. And missing many more features the A6 has.

The A8 misses one of the feature I love about the A6. Native MultiChannel DSD output via HDMI without conversion to PCM.
AFAIK Native DSD Multichannel via HDMi via Roon is only via the A6. Nothing outbound via USB.
