Hey everyone, last monday I got my Zidoo X1 from GeekBuying and I'm loving it. Right now I'm running their first firmware update which includes root. I hope they keep coming out with updates. I have a short review outlining the pros and cons of this device. It is very simple and very user friendly however it does not have much customizability. Being an android user already I like to customize everything and change the launcher. The zidoo x1 does not like other launchers. It shows a white box where the Nav bars and Notification bars should be since they are always hidden with this UI. I would really like a way to show and hide them. Perhaps in another firmware update? The ir remote is pretty interesting. The best feature on the remote is the three colored buttons near the bottom of the remote. These are programmable shortcut buttons to apps. I have them set to ShowBox, Kodi, and MX Player. The remote also can be programmed to control volume, power, and av selector for your tv. Great little extra as I am constantly losing the tv remote. One less remote to keep track of. There is also a remote app you can download to your android phone or tablet. The app is very easy to set up, start it and select your device. I use it to input text on the screen. Doing this is much easier then using the arrows on remote to select each letter.
