Like the subject says. Everything has been working fine up until today. I haven't updated the firmware since 1.085. The only difference is I just bought and configured a Harmony Elite remote to turn on my home theater components. All the audio formats continue to work correctly but videos with Dolby Digital + no longer output any sound. Whether it's just DD+ or DD+ w/ATMOS. I only just set up my Harmony Elite w/hub yesterday. After playing with it I saw that everything worked as it should, except when I switched from "Watch Movie" back to "Watch TV", my media player (zidoo z9x) didn't turn off. So I went into its menu and turned off all CEC settings. But then it would no longer play the audio on movies with Dolby Digital Plus audio. As a test I turned them back on, and it still didn't play DD+. Finally I narrowed it down to it would only play correctly if I used the zidoo remote to turn it on and control the player. WTF? Anybody else have this problem and is there a fix?
Hey Duke - nice to see you here again! Not a clue what's going on here. DD+ is backwards compatible with DD so I can't think of a way that DD+ wouldn't work - worst case it should default to standard DD if the amp can't decode it. As a starting point lets have a look at your EDID - so with the kit all connected so as to reproduce this problem can you post your EDID. Also, how is the kit connected? (eg. Zidoo > Amp > TV) To Download EDID ================ Settings/Display/Custom EDID/Save EDID Save to a USB stick or network location Post file as attachment to forum
Hey Mark! It's nice to be remembered! Well, it's another case of electronics being out to get us humans. When I used the Harmony remote to watch a movie it would turn on the z9x which would default to "Mute" for some reason. There would be no indicator on screen so I wouldn't know. Why it only did this with DD+ is another mystery, TrueHD and DTS played with no problem. It was after pressing the MUTE button that the indicator came on screen and I saw the musical note icon with a / going through it. I pressed again and the / went away and now the DD+ soundtrack played. So all is well again, but how unnecessary of an aggravation can you get!? Anyway thanks for responding. Happy New Year, brother!
That's weird - the Harmony must have sent the Mute IR command... And you know what - I learned something here - I didn't know that the mute button worked with bitstreams Happy New Year to you too!
