Z9X Pro - imperfect browsing options

I have a new Z9X Pro connected an 8TB HD by USB.
I prefer to browse my HD via a list, so keep my files and folders named for alphabetical sorting.
    - Media Center shows the HD contents as a file/folder list, but supports only basic scrolling (it takes over 1 min to go down through about 800 older titles).
    - In Home Theatre, with Poster View set to the “List” option, you have a list that you can skip down in alphabetical “chunks”, which is great, but then… if you stop at a given title, anywhere, for more than a few seconds the “cursor” (so to speak) jumps back to the top of the list… which is absolutely maddening!

Q: Is there a setting for Home Theatre (List View) that will prevent the inactive ‘cursor’ jumping back to the top of the list if the user pauses for thought?

(I want to avoid some of the more mind-cluttering and counterfactual aspects of HT Poster View, arising from its reliance on scraping the trend-led and corporatised internet, where promoted information is more prominent than basic facts).
