    Hi!

New to Zidoo and I just got my Z9X Pro. I can't connect to my Synology NAS through SMB. I get to the root folder, but when I try to access any of the folders in there I get "unknown issue". Is this a known problem?

I can access the NAS in Media center through UPNP and stream movies from there, but I can't add any folders in Home theater for example. I also own that Zappiti One 4k HDR that connects to the same NAS through SMB without any problems.

It's a bug in the current firmware that causes what you're seeing when using NTFS formatted drives. It's been fixed in some alpha firmware available on McBluna.net and should be in new official firmware this month.

hmm....the disks on the NAS is BTRFS. Isn't this NTFS-bug related to having a disk connected through USB directly to the Zidoo or something like that?

I don't have that problem. After entering NAS account username and password, z9x pro has access to files on the NAS through SMB.
I haven't tried it with guest access.

Do you have a Synology NAS? What does your SMB settings look like? Below is my settings.

SMB settings on my NAS. They are by default, I didn't change anything.

hmm..interesting to see that the QNAP doesn't seem to need SMB1 active, when the instructions for Synology says that SMB1 needs to be active. Does anyone know what SMB-version the Zidoo Z9X Pro uses?

I worked around my issue yesterday by activating NFS on my Synology and went that route instead. Seems to work for now.

NFS is a pain to set up against samba. I use SMB V2 & V3 on my synology NAS and it finally worked.... as long as you don't use any special characters or accented characters in the name of the server AND the name of the root folder to mount. Subfolders can have any special characters.

This is a bug on the zidoo (that I didn't have on the DuneHD)

    "pain to set up"?

I ticked three boxes in the Synologys settings, then I was done. Worked straight away....

Hi, i have the same issue as you, but my z20pro cant find any windows folder shared on the network, or my shared folder from my ISP Router.
On my ISP router, if i deactivate SMB2/3 i can see from the zidoo, but i can't access the folder.
But all my other video files are on my windows computer, and for the moment even enabling smb v1 on my windows, and deactivate firewall, i can't see folder or direct access from my zidoo.

If any1 have other idea i am open.

    thanks
