This device just made me crazy. It crashes sometimes when it was playing movies. To be specific, the TV screen just freezes, and the device reboot automatically after a while. Can anybody help me with this problem?
- What is the format video? MKV / 2160 / HDR? Connection - Use a USB drive or Sata? - If you use USB, have you tried both USB 2.0 and 3.0? No difference ? - If it is an external disk, does it work on another device without a problem? (If you do not have the latest Firmware then I would recommend Update to the latest version https://www.zidoo.tv/Support/downloads.html which should have resolved some problems unmounting the disk on USB 3.0 level).
First of all, thank you for your replay. Format of the vedios: most are mp4 and MKV, and the resolutions are 2160p and 1080p, SDR. I used Samsung Portable SSD T5 drive through USB 3.0 and I can try it through USB 2.0 later. And here is the information of the videos I watched when Z9s Crashed several times during playing. ========================================================================== Complete name : Crash.Landing.on.You.S01E10.1080p.WEB-DL.H264.AAC-AppleTor.mp4 Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : JVT Codec ID : avc1 (isom/avc1) File size : 3.39 GiB Duration : 1 h 24 min Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 5 763 kb/s Encoded date : UTC 2019-12-31 05:33:04 Tagged date : UTC 2019-12-31 05:33:04 Video ID : 3 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L4 Format settings : CABAC / 1 Ref Frames Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, Reference frames : 1 frame Format settings, GOP : M=1, N=60 Codec ID : avc1 Codec ID/Info : Advanced Video Coding Duration : 1 h 24 min Duration_FirstFrame : 67 ms Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 5 500 kb/s Maximum bit rate : 8 931 kb/s Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 29.970 (30000/1001) FPS Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.089 Stream size : 3.24 GiB (95%) Language : English Encoded date : UTC 2019-12-31 05:33:04 Tagged date : UTC 2019-12-31 05:33:04 Codec configuration box : avcC Audio ID : 4 Format : AAC LC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Low Complexity Codec ID : mp4a-40-2 Duration : 1 h 24 min Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 258 kb/s Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel layout : L R Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz Frame rate : 46.875 FPS (1024 SPF) Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 154 MiB (4%) Language : English Encoded date : UTC 2019-12-31 05:33:04 Tagged date : UTC 2019-12-31 05:33:04 Other #1 ID : 1 Type : Object description Format : System Codec ID : mp4s-01 Duration : 1 ms Language : English Encoded date : UTC 2019-12-31 05:33:04 Tagged date : UTC 2019-12-31 05:33:04 Other #2 ID : 2 Type : Scene description Format : System Codec ID : mp4s-01 Duration : 1 ms Language : English Encoded date : UTC 2019-12-31 05:33:04 Tagged date : UTC 2019-12-31 05:33:04 ===========================================================
- I don't know your HDD, but it may be a problem with the disk controller and your device. - On USB 3.0 I also noticed crashes and reboots, unmounting the drive, but part was fixed in the new Firmware. (I have the same problem when i want to copy a file from a device in USB 3.0 to Sata, or extern USB HDD in a USB 2.0 port, either disconnect or restart the box. Some issues have been fixed in the new update ). - After the new FMW, the HDD only disconnects when I copy something from the disk or USB key from the USB 3.0 port, probably because of the high bandwitch, but I still have problems or occasional anomalies on USB 3.0), but in your case (5 763 kb/s) it is very low bitrate . - If everything on the USB 2.0 interface will work without a problem, then you will need to use this port, or on the USB 3.0 interface try other HDDs. Summary : 1) Use USB 2.0 for better stability ( USB 2.0 It’s fast enough for most movies even in 4K) 2) Try other HDDs 3) Make the best use of the latest Firmware version for your box. (Firmware V2.3.10 for dowload) In some cases, a problem may be caused by some corrupted file on your HDD or its format -- try running the same movie from that Samsung HDD on your PC if it encounters a problem. (I format and I use a format of 4096 octect / 4Kilo - bytes for my external HDSs.)
i I've updated the FMW to the latest version, and the device works well at the moment. Maybe the problem has solved. Thanks.
