XLR outputs

    So the XLR outputs on the DMP-a8 are set for positive polarity, has anyone had to change this to negative for any connected devices? Does it sound any better than good RCA connectors. I know there is a DB gain with xlr cables, but that really negate for the use of good RCA connectors.

    It must be set the same as the input on the amplifier or the active speaker, if you change the polarity it will not catch fire but it will sound weirder. Whether it sounds better or not also depends on the amplifier and the cables, there is no universal recipe other than to test and see what you like.

    Yes, on my Emotiva XPA-DR2.I did not notice much difference though.
