I received a box only today. Updated a firmware to 1.2.4. Wanted to change the HDMI mode, but didn't find the mode 2160p50 in the list. Why this mode isn't in the list?
According to my limited knowledge, 4K has no 50Hz option. So we will give priority to 1080p50 frame switching
I.e. I correctly understand that you refuse to add this mode? Means, any SD of video with a frequency of 50 Hz won't be upscaled to 2160p? But it is wrong!!! SD video 25Hz upscaled - 2160p25 (TV mode) SD video 30Hz upscaled - 2160p30 (TV mode) SD video 60Hz upscaled - 2160p60 (TV mode) SD video 50Hz upscaled - What mode?
4k has 25, 30, 50 and 60 Hz First 4k TV supports only up to 30, recent ones arrives up to 60. Look at this page from Sony (Italy) , is in italian, but specification don't require translation: http://www.sony.it/electronics/televisori/x9405c-x9305c-series/specifications To clarify the importance of 50 and 60Hz 4K modes, keep in mind that last Olympics was transmitted by some broadcaster on temporary dedicated channel, at 2160p50 or 2160p60. Who bought a 4K TV not capable of handling this rate wasn't able to watch Olympics at all. Can you image the wrath? And this is why I'm still looking for a good TV, but not so expensive as those in the page above.
