Why doesn't the Eversolo A6 have Chromecast Audio installed?

Apologies if I'm resurrecting an old issue (or not) but I don't seem to be able to confirm whether or not that the A6 has Chromecast audio installed?
The reason I ask is I was trying to do a comparison between my A6 and my new Wiim Ultra when playing music direct from the Amazon Music app? Why? well because using the A6 inbuilt Cast function of Eversolo's implementation of Amazon Music does not allow for adding new tracks to playlists on the fly. It's been a bone of frustration for me when finding new music I enjoy that I can't directly add to an Amazon music playlist ... I have to do a screenshot and then at a later date add it to a playlist directly in the Amazon Music app ... cumbersome and time consuming. I realise probably (or certainly) that it's a limitation of the API that Amazon has allowed Eversolo.
Yet to my somewhat surprise the Amazon Music app quickly connects with the WiiM Ultra, which has both Chromecast audio and Alexa built in, and enables me to directly add new tracks to existing or new playlists. Exactly what I want from the A6!
Since Chromecast audio and Android (which of course is the OS of the A6) are both part of the Google ecosystem, and whereas I understand that the WiiM is likely a variant of the Linux OS, it strikes me we are being short changed by the A6?
I would love to be told that I'm wrong in what I've just typed ...

 

I might have had the common sense to do a search on here to answer my own question ... doh!
So the A6 doesn't have Chromecast and many have requested it as a future feature ... seemingly without much success.
But why? Is it really such a difficult thing for Eversolo/Zidoo to implement?
Someone will probably post now why it is and make me seem even more stupid than I am!
But come on ... a piece a kit that cost me a third of what I paid for the A6 can do it with ease and I might say brilliantly as it allows me to make even more of my annual subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited ...

You wrote and still don't understand why, and it has been explained many times.

 

Chromecast belongs to Google. For Google products to work, I must have certification on the devices. If the device is not certified, no Google service will work.

 

So the real question is then why haven't Eversolo sought certification of their devices? What is the limitation? Why would it be so difficult when the Eversolo software has been developed on Google's Android platform? WiiM have both Chromecast, and Alexa, and are now Roon certified to boot.
Why can WiiM do it for a range of products that are a quarter to a third the price of Eversolo's A6 never mind the A8.
Sorry .... there maybe reasons why the Eversolo products don't have the flexibility of the WiiM products ... but IMHO there can't be any excuses why they have not sort to bring us Chromecast audio. According to an AI search on the internet the A10 does apparently have Chromecast but that's a device that costs more than ten times the most expensive WiiM
product.
Surely every Amazon Music subscriber who owns and uses an Eversolo, would prefer the ability to create and add playlists to their catalogue of music, rather than some of the bling that Eversolo has brought us this past 18 months.

 

Apparently @mirror once said that they would love to bring Chromecast to Eversolo products, but that they had reached out to Google, and had no response. Well clearly the answer to that is try again, and then again, until they do respond. Anyhow if the A10 does now have Chromecast then clearly Google have responded ... so please roll it out to the A6 and A8 (or is this down to incurring costs?).

 

Cambridge Audio has chromecast, so do most of the Wii pro, etc.

 

And I have an elephant in the carafe.
Which means that other manufacturers have paid for Google certification.

 

Never really used Chromecast so I don't miss or need it with the DMP-A6. I have a WiiM Pro and Ultra and did not even know that they had Chromecast.

The WiiM and Cambridge Audio streamers may have Chromecast. But they do not some of features that the DMP-A6 has. The biggest being an HDMI output so 5.1 surround SACD, DVD-A and Blu-ray Audio rips can be played. Another is the ability to add an internal SSD (up to 4TB) and use an attached USB hard drive to increase storage of audio files. Those two features far out weigh the lack of Chromecast IMO.

 

For you ... Not me or most Amazon Music subscribers I would suggest.
This is not about which has the most or better features ... it's about why the A6 doesn't have Chromecast which would be far more beneficial than some of the useless marketing features Eversolo has brought us this last 18 months. If you have both WiiM Pro and Ultra's it's hard to miss in the settings that they are Chromecast and Alexa enabled ... I guess you are not an Amazon Music subscriber.

 

So no excuse for Eversolo/Zidoo not to bring Chromecast to the A6 and A8 then ... seeing they've made a killing in the market with sales of the A6. I can't see why anyone would disagree? Especially if they were Amazon Music subscribers.

Stop being an arse hole always raining on others frustrations and making out that you're some sort of know it all ... You're not you're just another member with a different take and not one that a lot on here agree with from what I can see. Butt out and start your own whining ...

 

First, gain 35 years of knowledge in the design of electronic systems and their programming. Then start calling someone names.

My only concern was to why the A6 hasn't still got Chromecast, when others do, and is clearly achievable. You come along and pour scorn on the observation, as you have done with other members, when it's of no concern of yours ... it's for Eversolo to answer not you.

 

I would suggest you buy a streamer from a manufacturer that has Chromecast. Seems like quite a simple solution.

Once again if the lack of Chromecast is a deal breaker buy something else.

It's quite simple to understand. I have zero need for Chromecast or Alexa. So the fact that those settings are in the WiiM setup menu went unnoticed as they have zero relevance or need. It's like if someone was not using the HDMI output of the DMP-A6. In that case all the settings would be of no relevance to them. I'm not an Amazon Music subscriber.

I'm assuming you own the DMP-A6. Did Eversolo claim that Chromecast was going to be added? Have you contacted Eversolo to see if Chromecast will actually be offered and when that might happen?

 

If you read my postings you will see that what has prompted my thread is that I have just bought a WiiM Ultra for a third of the price I paid for the A6 ... and found that it has Chromecast. And as an Amazon Music subscriber it now does what I have always wanted the A6 to do ... which is create and add to playlists on Amazon Music on the fly. For Amazon Music users that is a far greater functionality than a lot of the bling that Eversolo have brought us the past 18 months.
For non Amazon Music users it makes no difference as you point out. I now find myself using the Ultra rather than the A6 because of this ... and I don't want that to be the case as I still love the A6.

 

Did you buy the DMP-A6 not realizing that Chromecast was not offered? You bought the Ultra and then found out it has Chromecast? You did not answer my questions in my earlier post as far as what Eversolo is doing about adding Chromecast. Have you contacted Eversolo to ask about the addition of Chromecast? If not wouldn't that be the best action to take to get your questions answered.

I have both the Ultra and the DMP-A6. I wish that Eversolo offered the ability to sync multiple players like WiiM does. But Eversolo does not offer that feature which I knew before buying the DMP-A6. So I use the WiiM Ultra (bedroom system) and the Pro (main system) when I want to have music on two floors of my house. I prefer to use that DMP-A6 for critical listening (DSD direct) in my main system. WiiM does not offer DSD direct which I knew before buying the Ultra.

Like me you have two streamers that do what you want. It would be great if the features we like were combined all in one but that's not the case. I'm just happy that I found solutions that work.

 

I have been an Amazon Music subscriber for a lot longer than having had the A6. Like many who purchased the A6 when it first came out I was seduced by all the YouTubers proclaiming it the best thing since sliced bread. That it had the likes of Amazon Music, Qobuz and Tidal onboard. Knowing what I know now about the A6 (as a user for 18 months) is that those YouTubers described functionality skin deep only. Before the A6 I was using Amazon's own App on a Laptop, creating and adding tracks to playlists, which is one of it's bread and butter functionalities.
I took it for granted that the A6's implementation of Amazon Music would have the same functionality ... it hasn't ... I can stream tracks, I can stream playlists created in the Amazon Music app but I can't add, delete or create playlists on the A6 ... instead I have to go back to Amazon's own app to do that which is a pain in the butt if you're doing that umpteen times. I guarantee nobody who has bought the A6, or any other streamer, has checked out everything it does or doesn't do?
Did I buy it expecting that Eversolo would add all the things they have? No of course not ... I raised the lack of Chromecast here because it would enable that very basic functionality within the A6 (as others have requested).
And worth repeating that @mirror had previously said that Eversolo would love to bring Chromecast to their products ... they have now with the very expensive A10 - so bring it to the A6 and A8 please.
