Theoretically they should sound the same, but I wasn’t impressed with Amazon as much as with Qobuz. Purely subjective, but Qobuz sounds better to me. And as stated above you can do a free trial if you haven’t already done so in the past.
I’ve always used Amazon, but trialed Qobuz when I was struggling with using Amazon via Cast. To be honest, I couldn’t hear any difference. Most of the music I listen to was HiRes in both services. I guess that it probably depends on which layout you prefer and what offers you the best value. As far as SQ is concerned, there was nothing to differentiate. Now that Amazon’s native , I’ve returned to it.
I had heard that Qobuz just inherently sounds better than Amazon and wanted to see fellow forum members experience.
In my 30 day trial experience: Qobuz has a better interface. But I found their catalog to be missing A LOT, and they also have a lot of errors in the catalog data (like wrong album release dates etx that make searching harder). Amazon has a far bigger catalog, but the interface is not nearly as nice. Amazon is cheaper. Tidal has a bigger catalog than Qobuz, but not ad big as Amazon. Tidals interface is the worst of the 3. By far the most expensive.
If I were you I'd go for Amazon... the interface can become a second factor... the wideness of the library would make a difference to me, not how I'd chose elements in it. (yes, it's not comfortable, but can be done, at least I could...) Good luck my dear.
I started with Tidal on a Node 2 and then trialled Qobuz when I was struggling with casting Amazon on the A6. I agree that the Qobuz Ap is a bit slicker, but I found that a lot of ‘my’ music was missing on Qobuz and Amazon’s HiRes content was considerably more comprehensive. Not to mention, Amazon was a lot cheaper! For me, SQ seems identical across all of them (though the Tidal stream was a bit unstable at that time).
