Does the fir filter setup have an effect on the dsp audio settings? Is getting Umik 1 useful for these settings? Can friends with knowledge about this subject answer?
The FIR filter is part of the DSP. FIR filters basically just contain the info you could type into the PEQ. But FIR filters are easier to import into the A8 than typing in all the settings in the PEQ.
You need a mic and a computer with free Room EQ Wizard software to do measurements. UMIK-1 or UMIK-2 will work perfectly with Room EQ Wizard.
