Two Questions: How To Access Advanced Options While a Movie Is Playing? And How to Fix Audio Sync?

I know how to get to the options within the media player itself while watching a move but I don't know how to get to the main options menu without exiting out of the movie. Is that the only way?

Was watching a movie last night and for the first time started having audio sync issues where dialogue was a few seconds behind lip motion ... Where is the option to tweak this and can I access it without exiting the movie itself?

Okay I have a third question: is there an "options" button on the remote somewhere?
