    Hello,

DMP-A8 user here with a Crucial 4tb P3 SSD connected to A8. A8 is wired to ethernet.
I transfer albums from my mac computer (also wired ethernet) to the SSD on the eversolo.
The speeds are painfully slow. I recently posted on a Eversolo A6/A8 facebook group about this, and other users reported the same. They suggested I try from a PC instead of a mac, and wow! Super fast speeds.

From the mac, I am even unable to view large folders with many albums, but everything works as expected when connecting from PC. I have other HDD on the network and works as expected from the mac, so I don't think it's a mac configuration problem.

Anyone have any hints if anything can be done to speed up access from mac? It is about 10-20x slower on mac compared to PC.

While not a solution to the slow network access from your A8 to Mac compared with PC, have you tried a direct USB connection to the top OTG port ? This should be always faster than network, just ensure the settings for that port are set to PC connection rather than mass storage. At least on a PC, this is very quick but assumes you can position your computer close to your A8.

    1. It could be related to how the SSD is formatted (FAT32 vs EXT4 vs NTFS etc.).
    2. If it works with Win and not with Mac, as weird as it may sound, it IS definitely a Mac issue - see above. Not a Windows virtue, so to speak...
    3. if it is a Mac issue, there is, most probably, little to nothing you can do.

My suggestion: try to use FAT32 as the drive's filesystem (that is: format it so)
