Hey, New to the forums. Finally picked up the X9S but when I am playing an mkv from my external HDD the screen goes black intermittently. Almost as if it's assessing the frame rate/file size/resolution etc. Is this a common thing that's easy to fix? Cheers
at most is should go black once at the start of the video for 1 second or so. is it same with kodi and with media center ?
Local playback seems to be fine now. But I tried a 2160p file at 23.976 fps and the screen was going black for a second every 10 minutes or so. Is it best to set the resolution manually before playing? So far this box is an expensive waste of time.
I can't possibly think where I have gone wrong. New power, new HDMI, clean box, formatted HD. If there are settings I need to look into can someone help? Every answer is cryptic
Req to know what file res your playing etc What screen you have and is it 4K ? Hdmi 4K certified etc Length of hdmi lead its used for ? Less apps the better What app your using to playback

MX Player, Kodi, Chrome, ZMBC The black flash happens when playing via ZMBC and Kodi. MX Player just crashes
What firmware are you on ? And take it screen is 4K without googling it etc So no amp inbetween then .
Yes, screen is 4k. As for firmware the latest. I tried an update when it came out of the box and said nothing was available. Is this something that needs to be done manually?
You need to be on st least v2.0.5 or v 2.0.15 Download on to usb stick And update On zidoo website under your box version
