Hello everyone, i just purchased a Zidoo Z9X based on Kodi forums opinions and i can't find a way or an option to enable rar files support like in base kodi ? Any help would be gladly appreciated.
Thank you McBluna for your detailed reply. It's just i thought it could be directly enabled in the default gui which looks pretty neat. I hope developers will include rar/archive support as an option in their default player (it was historically included since Xbmc but got externalized as an addon around Kodi 14-16 i think), only thing missing to be perfect imo. At least, i got all in one running it seems (Dolby Visi0n through a Denon x4500h receiver, all audio formats passthrough and rar support), thanks to you and another user here who was looking for info about same avr and Shield Pro.
I think it's because Kodi moved from python v2 to v3. With Kodi v18/v19 the rar archive support is not included by default.
