The new updated 1.1.80 iPad view has removed the initial screen and now we have a side bar which removes screen real estate. Is there a way to get rid of the side bar? Can we also go back to the colorful home view? I still get the old home view on the iPhone. I don’t like the side bar.

Also in the new iPad view on Apple Music when the the Cast is engaged I cannot go back to the home screen.

Also the Apple Music screen does not change when the music changes!! What is wrong with my settings??

Use the iPad in portrait mode instead of landscape mode, which then displays the original app format. Alternatively use the cast function and you can ignore the side bar menu. I assume you have updated the iPad control app to v1.0.57 on the app store?

Thanks for your response. However I use a keyboard and I am always in Landscape View. I never use the Portrait view. I did update the iPad control app to v1.0.57 and did a factory reset. It is not my cup of tea. I wish it were the old way. The new screen is a jumble of the side bar and the extraneous Controls on the bottom. There should be a pure view of what is playing. It needs to be changed in my opinion. Bad mistake.

So, after installing new update to the A6 and latest Eversolo control app, with Apple Music in Cast mode, the lag is still there, if not worse. Syncing between app interface and A6 screen also dicey. Also, when playing clearly marked "hi res, lossless" source in Apple Music, A6 reports PCM. 48khz.

Apple Music considers 48khz and above to be hi res, lossless. It should not be PCM because Apple uses its own proprietary lossless compression formula ALAC. The lag in my system disappeared when I went from wireless to ethernet. I am getting used to the layout of the new iPad screen but I was flummoxed when I first saw it. I didn’t know how to get started!

Ethernet is not an option for my situation unfortunately. Makes my decision re: the A6 maybe too hasty. As to PCM, is there a preference somewhere I need to change?

The industry in general considers anything 24-bit (regardless of sample rate) to be hi-res.

ALAC is just Apple's version of FLAC, both of which are containers for PCM.

The interface is not consistent in the use of PCM vs. ALAC. In the Apple Music screen when the piece is playing there is correct information if you hit the rectangle on the right bottom. There it will say ALAC but every other place like when you bring up the VU meters it will say PCM. But from what others said it really doesn’t matter.

It's not that "it doesn't matter", they are simply two different things:
    1. ALAC (as FLAC, APE, etc.) is a container, that is, a file format that contains the audio stream, in PCM format
    2. PCM - P,ulse C.ode M.odulation - is one of the (currently) two ways of storing digital audio, the other being PSD - P.ulse D.ensity M.odulation - used in the 1-bit hi-freq. DSD

It says ALAC in Apple’s app because that is how it is stored on Apple’s music service (on any other service it would probably be stored as FLAC). The A6 will decode the ALAC to PCM for the DAC (built-in or external) hence the displaying of “PCM” everywhere else at that point.
