Looking to add a NAS setup. Would a Synology DS423+ suffice?

I am new to this hobby...backing up my media. Right now I have everything on two external HDDs that are connected to a couple of Z9X Pros. I like the idea of a NAS and have begun researching them. That said, I am still confused about a few things.

I backup my movies in ISO format. Would the DS423+ be sufficient for storing such files and playing them via the Z9X Pro? Since I don't use Plex (or similar)...transcoding is not a consideration, right? It is my understanding that the Z9X Pro handles the file reading part of the process.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a DS220+ and its perfect for storing media with my Zidoo. Then again any NAS would do. As for playback, yes the Zidoo does the heavy lifting - the NAS is just to store the files.

No need to transcode. Have a decent NAs and a good network and it will be all fine
