I love my A8. I really do. At first, I used it as a pre-amp with an amplifier. Now I've moved it to my theater room and turned off the volume control (pass-thru) and send the analog to my AV receiver. Now that I drank the Roon Koolaide all I'm doing is streaming to it. I am not using any of the built-in streaming services, browsing, ripping, etc. The screen is really a fancy VU meter. My question is, is there another product with a DAC comparable to the A8 with an Ethernet port? If so, I'd get it for the theater room and move the A8 back to my office. I don't need any pre-amp functions or streaming services or storage built-in. MUST: Ethernet port (probably WiFi too) A8-class DAC EQ RCA/XLR out USB-in (audio for EQ measurements and thumb-drive to upload EQ curves or via ethernet even better) AirPlay/ChromeCast/Others? Roon Ready would be awesome! MAYBE - missing any of these is not a deal-breaker Bluetooth Other digital inputs
