I got my A8 a couple of months ago and I've been listening to it in my office thru an Emotiva amp via XLR. It sounds amazing. My better speakers are in my home theater connected to a Sony STR-AZ5000ES receiver (thru Emotivas) so I've decided I'd like to integrate the A8 into that system. The big win to me of the A8 is the DAC so I don't want a digital connection to the Sony. I'm thinking about putting the A8's RCA outs in HT bypass mode and connect them to an AUX-IN RCA pair on the Sony. That way the A8 can do its DSP/DAC magic and the Sony will be configured to send the audio from AUX to the front two speakers only. No other processing required. Does this make sense?
