Currently the player does not support {\an8} srt sub tag. This tag means to show the line at the top of screen instead of bottom as it may get in the way of something on screen. Currently it shows the tag in the subtitle instead of interpreting it. I've uploaded an example srt file of it. If any other info is needed, just let me know.
haven't tested but if what the OP says is true this feature should be added, it's especially important for anime if you're not using .ass subtitles
I would like to see it t00 but I refer you to this 2016 article requesting it as well. Looks like the wheels turn very very slowly..... https://community.firecore.com/t/srt-subtitles-an8-tag-render-subs-on-top-of-screen/13224
More and more movies with subtitles and positioning like {\an8} etc. A lot of players have been able to read them correctly for many years. Make this possible for the Zidoo system player. P.S. As well as displaying the name of the audio track (tags) in the selection menu.
I guess there are more and more subtitles with display tag {\an8} .... I am asking for this feature again
Bump. Please support this. Subtitles are a big part of viewing experience and this is becoming an issue more and more.
