Eversolo DMP-A6 will not start

Hi.



I am having an issue with my DMP-A6. Everything was yesterday. Today I wanted to turn on my system and I came to the issue seen on video.

How can I reset the device? I tried using a clip on the back but nothing seems to happen.

You changed nothing? No new PSU, no new SSD whatever?
Have you tried to switch it off completely, and not only by pressing the knob?

 

Unit is stock. Not even an SSD is installed (I use a NAS via Wi-Fi).

I already did the usual disconnecting, waiting, reconnecting etc.

I also tried to reset the device, but then it just switches off. I did manage to get to a screen where it showed me some options to reset (it looked like the usual options you get on Android when flashing a new firmware) but that is as far as I got.

I have contacted Eversolo, let's see what they have to say.

 

Did not see an emergency flash image or a recovery procedure for the DMP-A6.

So I have been in contact with Zidoo service. I have exchanged a few emails about information they requested me. I will update as we get to a solution.

Oh boy. I knew this was going to be a shitshow.

Zidoo service provided me a US address so I could send my faulty unit. I live in Colombia, so I had to ship paying out of my own pocket.

I sent out the unit on 2023-10-31 and since then, they have gone completely silent. I sent out a reply via email and they still haven't replied back. They originally said to just sent the tracking number so they can send me a new unit. Still nothing.

I think I am going to start to hit social media to they can get their shit together.

 

Ouch !! Where did you buy it from? US?

 

I purchased on Amazon US but I cargo forwarded it to my location through a third party. They are already aware of this (I provided Amazon invoice)

They did sent me this guide. It did not work. Unit shuts down when it reached the recovery screen.

Anyway, today I got a response. They sent me a tracking number for new unit from China. It will take a while to get here but we'll see.

 

You must press on the back and press the front button at the same time. I made some of these restore on other equipments, never at the first time. Anyway, now you know.

 

Yeah I did this as well. I am computer savvy (I work in IT).

But the unit turned off no matter what. I think it had an issue with power supply (I'm speculating)

How ended your story.
I had same problem and I sent my streamer on 5 May 2024 to Netherlands Sonority (EU) dealer. At first they promised to take look at it and then they gone completely silent despite my several interventions.

Can anyone advise how to resolve such horrible situation

If they would still have my streamer and not replying anymore to phone calls or emails. I would go knocking on their door

 

I couldn't believe but today I received answer from Eversolo headquarters

I have investigated the issue for you, Mindy has reported the issue to a relevant colleague, who communicated with the seller Sonority.
We pushed them to repair the product for you from last month, they agreed to repair it soon but last week when we contacted with them again, we haven't received email back as well, possibly they are on vacation.
We will continue to follow up on the issue, and please let us know if you have any updates from the seller as well.

I will update forum how this horror story ends.

All I can say let's hope for the best and avoid Sonority by any means.

 

I had a similar problem. The unit appeared dead. Even the ring light was off. The problem was resolved by unplugging the unit and turning the rear rocker switch to the off position. Then plugging the unit back and after that turning the rocker switch to the on position. The ring light came on and pushing the on-off switch then activated the unit.

 

As promised, here is update ...

I received my DMP-A6 on 8 October 2024. After 156 days or 22 weeks and 2 days or 5 months and 3 days or 42.62% of 2024

Streamer is functioning as it should. MAC is different so I guess motherboard is changed.
