I guess, you mean it is only working on the digital INPUTS. The Graphic EQ will change the signals of the analog Outputs.
The AKM DACs have hardware supported DSP. But you are welcome to elaborate on your knowledge of the DSP inside the A8.
Of course the Calculating software is handled by hardware, the DSP. But it has nothing to do with the old fashioned hardware based way to equalize a signal with old fashioned electronic components like capacitues, inductivities and so on.
All hardware needs software to work. I get it. The difference here being that in the A6 it is the CPU that does the work while in the A8 it is the DACs. Hence, the performance of the ‘box’ is less hampered by it. A bit like GPUs helping CPUs…
That is almost correct. Every DSP functionality needs software to work. Also of course the AD and DA conversions. The old fashioned (classical) hardware that I mentioned, does not need software to work. But I donˋt know, if there is still any analog working PEQ available on the market - I donˋt think so and I would not buy one at all .
No, I did not. But if they offer something for People who prefer, the more classical hifi electronics, why not? If I want to go back to the pure analog way of listening, I would propably go DIY. But that would not be a topic for this forum.
