As the title suggests, does the new Z9X Pro support 120Hz output? One of the new features seem to be HDMI 2.1 and according to the spec this introduced 8K and 120Hz support but the site only says 60fps? Is there some other bottleneck somewhere such as the CPU? I would think if the SoC has support for HDMI 2.1 then it would also support 120Hz?

    Thanks!

I tried plugging my z9x pro directly into a LG CX with hdmi 2.1 inputs. No 120hz options in the settings, and it's not using FRL. So it's not really hdmi 2.1 yet, no idea if this is going to change or is just dodgy hdmi marketing.

There are no HDMI 2.0 devices anymore. Everything is 2.1 according to the HDMI forum (yes, stupid decision!).
That said, the device sadly only supports 60p output. 120p and/or QMS would really be nice to have. Maybe with the next generation.

Maybe it comes in via update.
For example, 2.1a HDMI would still be nice, but that can all be updated via software.

The HDMI chip is only one part. The other is the GPU supporting 120p output.
