Hello, What is the best quality between the two. Are they the same. Do they both use the DAC. Sorry for question but I am a relatively new novice to the DMP-A8 Thanks
'Connect' is basically the phone/tablet telling the A8 what to play, so the quality is whatever the A8 is set to. ONLY info on what to play is sent. Using Airplay, Chromecast, Bluetooth streams the music from the phone/tablet to the A8 and the limitations are down to the standard used. Chromecast is better than Airplay which again is better than Bluetooth... Your phone/tablet becomes the bottleneck in this case. DAC = Digital to Analogue Converter. So, if you output an analogue signal via RCA or XLR, then the DAC is used. Digital out means that you are not using the DAC. The conversion is then taken care of by some 'other box' before reaching your speakers.
